Ergotrics and Voxdale win funding by IWT
Hoogstraten – On 1 August 2015, IWT approved the project proposal “Positioning of patients with compressed air.”
Ergotrics and Voxdale join forces. Voxdale has no medical background but a broad experience in supporting companies in developing disruptive innovations. Ergotrics is a start-up without experience in product development, but the founder Dr. Paul Depauw has extensive experience as a neurosurgeon. He understands the problems that occur in the operating theatre when proning patients.
Together with the research partners, the University of Ghent (Prof Kiekens) and the University of Antwerp (Prof De Bruyne), Ergotrics and Voxdale are starting a project with the improvement goal “positioning patients in a simple and more ergonomic way before and during surgery”. With the help of Dr. ir. Danielle Baetens, the project proposal was submitted to IWT. The project starts on 1 August 2015 and will run for 17 months until 31/12/2016. The total budget of the project is almost €460,000.
